The College of Visual and Performing Arts launched the Alumni Artist Support Initiative in Spring 2020 to assist Mason alumni during a time of uncertainty and financial constraints. Seven alumni received awards towards future projects including Dr. Paul Alan Chinen, School of Music ’14. Mason Arts at Home is pleased to feature Chinen for a living room concert and digital masterclass featuring Alyssa Morris’ Collision Etudes for solo oboe, followed by an opportunity for viewers to ask questions live. The Collision Etudes are a set of six short programmatic etudes inspired by six pieces of art by female American painters.
This event will be held via Zoom. Registration is required. REGISTER HERE to receive Zoom link and password.
Fall Dewberry School of Music performances as part of Mason Arts at Home are free. Our students are creating work under challenging circumstances and many face increased financial hardship due to COVID-19. A gift of any size in support of scholarships will help these young musicians complete their education. Make a gift.
