Alumni Artist Support Initiative: In Conversation with Kwanza Nicole Gooden
|When/Where||Tuesday, Oct 06, 2020 8:00pm||Virtual Event|
In spring 2020, Mason’s College of Visual and Performing Arts launched the Alumni Artist Support Initiative, a concerted effort to assist alumni during a time of uncertainty and financial constraints. Film and Video Studies alum Kwanza Nicole Gooden (‘13) received one of the Initiative’s seven awards. Mason Arts at Home is pleased to feature Gooden along with co-writer and producer Andrea Lewis for a live, digital conversation and screening of their short film Token. The short film, which has been receiving praise and awards at film festivals since its release in 2018, is a coming of age story about a young Black girl growing up in the suburbs and trying to fit in. The conversation and screening will be followed by an opportunity for audience questions.
This event will be streamed simultaneously on this webpage, Facebook and YouTube at the scheduled time.
