Go behind-the-scenes with acclaimed choreographer Caleb Teicher and his brain trust of collaborators as they discuss Swing 2020, an innovative and exciting new work that brings the best of the swing dance world to the concert stage. Music Director, Eyal Vilner, and choreographers Evita Arce, LaTasha Barnes, and Nathan Bugh, come together for a conversation moderated by Ross LeClair of Joyce Theater Productions. Tune in to learn more about this high-energy production, which will feature live music and stunning improvisation by swing dance champions! In keeping with the participatory nature of swing dance gatherings, the artists are even creating unique ways for audiences to be involved during the performance. Hint: you’ll be able to catch Swing 2020 at the Center for the Arts next season, as well as engage with the creative team, who are 2020-2021 Mason Artists-in-Residence.
This conversation is presented by The Joyce Theater, George Mason University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, and Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center.
