Members of the Grammy Award®-winning quartet Third Coast Percussion join composer Tyondai Braxton and Mason’s Associate Director of Concert Bands and Director of Percussion Studies, John Kilkenny, for a conversation about Sunny X. This exciting new work is co-commissioned by George Mason University’s Center for the Arts, Carnegie Hall, and Sewanee Music Festival. This talk provides a glimpse into the creative minds of the project’s leaders and a sneak preview of what Center for the Arts audiences will experience during Third Coast Percussion’s time as Mason Artists-in-Residence in the 2020/2021 season.
