School of Theater and The Mason Players present select scenes from Just Like Us directed by Esteban Marmolejo-Suarez. Just Like Us, by Karen Zacarías, is based on Helen Thorpe’s bestselling book which follows four Mexican teens living in Denver, two of whom are documented and two who are not, through young adulthood. Inspired by their real lives, Just Like Us poses difficult, yet essential questions about growing up in America.

April 30 at 8:00 p.m.—Select scenes and a post-show panel discussion with professional theater makers including Latinx dramaturg/scholar Dr. Priscilla Page.

May 1 at 2:00 p.m.—Select scenes and a post-show panel discussion with a focus on community advocacy and social justice.
