For over 30 years, Austrian brass septet Mnozil Brass—the Monty Python of the music world—has effortlessly waltzed between sublime classical repertoire and playful pop, gliding from Schubert to Sinatra, Shostakovich to Prince. Mnozil Brass now ties it all together with this tribute to the forefather of nonchalant flirting between genres: “King of the Waltz” Johann Strauss. Composing hit after hit, he revolutionized music distribution, becoming a mass phenomenon—admired by Brahms, Wagner, Verdi, Gershwin, and just about everyone else—while raking in the cash. This “seriously funny” and “whimsically brazen” (San Antonio Report) ensemble lays it all bare, revealing everything about Strau$$ until nothing remains but the naked truth.
