Concerts from the Library of Congress developed the Boccaccio Project to provide some artistic responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ten composers were commissioned to write brief solo works, with the remotely recorded pieces to be premiered online in the month of June. Performances of the new works will be posted on the Library’s website and social media channels each weeknight at 8 p.m. from June 15-26.
Composer Damien Sneed, who performed at the Hylton Center in January 2019, kicks off this series with his new work Sequestered Thoughts. Read more about the project, as well as the collaborating pianist Jeremy Jordan, in the more info link above and make sure to tune into the Library of Congress Performing Arts Facebook Page or Youtube Page on Monday June 15, 2020 at 8 pm EST to watch their premiere with us!
